EDUCATION & TRAINING

What Is Apprenticeship Training?

Apprenticeship is defined as the act of learning a skill trade while working in conjunction with a journeyperson.  The
ABC Heart of America Chapter Apprenticeship Program offers a combination of classroom education and on-the-job learning.  The classroom education is provided by an instructor who is a master craftsperson from a curriculum designed for practical application of work you will be performing.  It has been proven that the craftsperson that rises from the ranks of apprentices achieve added success in the construction industry.

The ABC Apprenticeship Program is recognized by the Federal Department of Labor.  Our programs combine work experience with formal classroom instruction.  During the day, you will receive on-the-job learning and attend class two nights a week.  All Kansas City Metro programs are affiliated with the MCC Business and Technology College. Upon completion of the program you may receive college credits.  Apprentices receive regular pay increases as they advance through the 4-year program.  After successfully completing this program, you will enter the work force as a Journey level construction craftsperson in your chosen field.
