President Bush Addresses 2007 Legislative Conference
For the second time in three years, President George W. Bush spoke to ABC members from around the country during the National Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. Dave Meyer, The Meyer Companies, Inc. in Lee Summit, had the distinction of introducing President Bush. Dave served as the 2007 National Chairman of ABC.
More than 500 contractors attended the conference, including the following members from the ABC Heart of America Chapter: Greg Hoberock, hth companies; Anne McPherson, Thermaltech; Mike Hemphill, American Boiler and Mechanical; Rob Pitkin, Levy and Craig, PC; Jerry Starkey, The Skilled Trades Company; John Stolte, Marks, Nelson, Vohland and Campbell, LLC; Pat Shelley; Russell Puckett; Andrea Plunkett, JPI Glass; and Karl Sigler, Enterprise Interiors, Inc. Jim Kistler, ABC Heart of America Chapter President also attended.

Missouri Governor Matt Blunt signs Senate Bill No. 339
SB 339, legislation that severely limits the use of Project Labor Agreements on public projects, just passed the Missouri House on a 145 to 7 vote and was signed by Governor Blunt.
